Catherine Merrill
MBA, LNHAExecutive Director
22 years in senior living
Catherine brings over two decades of leadership in senior living to Canyon View. After earning her MBA from the University of Denver and her Licensed Nursing Home Administrator certification, she spent 15 years at a nationally recognized senior living operator before joining Canyon View at its founding. Her vision centers on creating a community where residents thrive — not just live. Under her leadership, Canyon View has earned a 98% family satisfaction rating and multiple state awards for quality of care.
Dr. Tamara Okafor
DNP, RN, RAC-CTDirector of Nursing
18 years in geriatric care
Dr. Okafor oversees all clinical operations at Canyon View, leading a team of 35 nurses and care aides. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Johns Hopkins University with a focus on geriatric care transitions. Her evidence-based approach to care planning has reduced hospital readmissions at Canyon View by 40% compared to national averages. She is passionate about training the next generation of geriatric nurses and mentors nursing students from local universities.
Marcus Rivera
CTRS, CDPDirector of Life Enrichment
12 years in therapeutic recreation
Marcus believes that an active, engaged life is the foundation of wellness. As a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and Certified Dementia Practitioner, he designs programming that stimulates the mind, body, and spirit. From art therapy and music programs to outdoor adventures and intergenerational events, Marcus ensures every resident has opportunities to pursue their passions. He previously directed programming at a 300-resident community in Boulder before bringing his energy to Canyon View.
Chef Antonio Marchetti
CIA Graduate, ACF CertifiedExecutive Chef
28 years in culinary arts
Chef Marchetti brings a fine-dining pedigree to Canyon View's kitchen. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, he spent 15 years in acclaimed restaurants in New York and San Francisco before discovering his true calling in senior living dining. He creates menus that are both nutritionally optimized and genuinely exciting — from farm-to-table seasonal specials to personalized dietary accommodations. His team sources ingredients from local Colorado farms whenever possible.
Dr. Mei-Lin Chen
PhD, LCSW, CDPDirector of Memory Care & Wellness
16 years in memory care
Dr. Chen leads Canyon View's memory care neighborhood and overall wellness programming. With a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado and certifications in both social work and dementia care, she brings a holistic approach to cognitive health. Her innovative sensory garden therapy program has been featured in the Journal of Alzheimer's Care. She works closely with families to create personalized care journeys that honor each resident's life story and preferences.
